Numify allows people to communicate with each other through rating a number (of how they feel) & dictating into the Watch what they are currently doing. The range of numbers we’ve currently set are -5 to 5, with -5 being a more unhappy number and 5 being a happier number. The goal was to create an app that is quick and easy, something that resonates with the attitude of teenagers today.
My Role:
Sole Product Designer for an Apple Watch standalone app, that I developed with an engineer, Daniel. It started with Daniel's idea of creating a fun app for teenagers to record their mood in numbers and dictate their feelings into the watch.
We started by creating a persona based on our informal conversations with a few teenagers, to get a feel of how the app might be perceived. This helped us in tying our decisions to this persona, keeping our app human centered to this target audience.
After a few paper sketches, I designed a prototype which could be used as a base for Daniel to start coding. The process was iterative as Daniel and I exchanged our constraints back and forth. Once we had a basic flow and design ready, Daniel began to code. In the meanwhile, I started working on branding identity.
